Andy Hallett : August 4, 1975 – March 29, 2009 R.I.P.

Andy Hallett was an American singer and actor best known for playing the part of Lorne ("The Host") in the television series Angel.

A singer as well as an actor, Hallett used his singing talents often on the show; as well as performed two songs on the "Angel" series soundtrack Angel: Live Fast, Die Never.

After a five-year battle with heart disease, Hallett died on March 29, 2009 at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, with his father Dave Hallett by his side.

The 3 Stooges....are back? WTF?!

MGM and the Farrelly brothers are finally slapping together their high-profile cast for "The Three Stooges," a comedy project the filmmakers have been developing for years. Sean Penn is set to play Larry, and Jim Carrey is in negotiations to play Curly. Benicio del Toro is a rumored possibility for the brothers' taciturn leader, Moe.

The studio is looking to start production in the fall for a 2010 release slot.

The project was originally set up at Columbia, which produced the 1930s Stooges shorts. C3 Entertainment Inc., which holds the licensing rights to the Stooges brand, then sold the feature rights to Warner Bros. in 2001 for the Farrellys to write and produce the movie. Eventually, Warner Bros. let the rights lapse and MGM's Mary Parent scooped them up along with the Farrellys' continuing participation.

Peter and Bobby Farrelly wrote the script, which Bobby has referenced as "Dumb, Dumber & Dumbest," and will produce with Bradley Thomas and Charlie Wessler. Earl and Robert Benjamin of C3 will executive produce.

The film is not a biopic but a fictional treatment that maintains the Stooges' gleeful slap schtick updated for a modern milieu.

Originally constructed as four separate shorts, the feature screenplay has since been streamlined into a single narrative. Included in the story line is an opening that shows the Stooges as kids in an orphanage, a device that will require some "Benjamin Button"-style visual trickery to place the adult actors' heads on child actors' bodies.

The Stooges maintain remarkably global brand recognition, and their shorts, films and cartoons are still broadcast in 30 countries. The Farrelly brothers' latest comedy "The Heartbreak Kid" grossed $124 million worldwide.

Penn is repped by CAA, Carrey by CAA and the Miller Co.

Marvel is proud to announce that in honor of Wolverine's 35th anniversary, numerous Marvel titles will feature Wolverine Art Appreciation Variant Covers in April, as part of Wolverine Art Appreciation Month. In the tradition of Marvel's previous variant cover programs, featuring everything from villains to zombies to monkeys, select Marvel titles will feature variant covers spotlighting the most popular X-Man through a unique lens! Inspired by some of the world's greatest artists, these variant covers depict Wolverine like you've never seen him before, in styles reminiscent of Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dali, Andy Warhol and more!

"This is a huge year for Wolverine as he proves why he's arguably one of the most popular characters in the world," explained Joe Quesada, Marvel Comics Editor-in-Chief. The "Year One" Trailer

While surfing the 'net, I came across a movie that is coming out that I had not heard of. It's called "Year One", starring Jack Black & Michael Cera. I'm kinda surprised by two things: 1) That I missed a movie announcement about this, & 2) That I haven't stumbled upon this sooner. It looks really funny, although I'm not sure if it is enough to pony up $10 to go see it in the movies, or just wait for it to go to dvd.

My Art: Microheroes

I decided to post some of my "art". I found this type of art creation a while ago, and I thought it was really cool to try.

What are microheroes you ask?


Micro-heroes are basic pixel representations of comic book characters, that are drawn in a very specific cartoon style and displayed through the web in order to show every appearance of every character from a myriad of comic book series. After sometime, Micro-heroes have come to also represent pop culture icons, such as TV series characters, old American cartoons, manga/anime heroes or pro sport athletes. Their dimensions are somewhat similar to those of the characters drawn in the super deformed style of manga and anime. While there may be a minor similarity between the two types of art, Micro-hero artists prefer to have their art classified as Micro-heroes and not super deformed.

This is my rendition of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, circa 1984; when they first appeared.

Is Mac back?

"MacGyver" being reassembled as feature film

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - It will take more than twine, bubble gum and a pencil to do it, but the science-oriented adventure series "MacGyver" is being developed as a feature film for New Line.

"MacGyver" ran from 1985 to 1992 on ABC. Richard Dean Anderson , later of " Stargate: Atlantis " and "SG-1" fame, starred as an incredibly resourceful secret agent for the Phoenix Foundation who frequently would escape from dangerous situations with ingenious and lightning-quick engineering trickery.

Two telefilms starring Anderson aired in the years after the show's cancellation. The character eventually achieved enough cultural recognition to become a reference for anyone attempting to jury-rig a solution out of household items . " Saturday Night Live " took the concept to the next level with its "MacGruber" spoofs starring Will Forte .

Raffaella De Laurentiis, daughter of veteran producer Dino De Laurentiis , is producing the movie through her Raffaella Prods. along with Martha De Laurentiis and series creator Lee Zlotoff. Dino De Laurentiis is executive producing.

No writer has been hired. The studio hopes to find a script that acknowledges the concept's pop-culture profile yet still makes for a serious and fun adventure movie .

"We think we're a stick of chewing gum , a paper clip and an A-list writer away from a global franchise," said New Line's Richard Brener.

I've recently had the opportunity to hear some different songs from Jason Mraz. He's actually really good! His music is really laid back, calming soothing music, with a good sound. I originally thought he wouldn't be one of those artists that can sing well live, but suprisingly, he does. I have put some videos of his up, just so everyone can check him out.

When I Grow Up....

It's amazing what little things stay with you and that you can remember them no matter how long ago. This is one of those things....

Back in 1993, I saw a commercial that I instantly liked, and to this day, still remember vividly. The other day, just on a whim, I did a Yahoo! search for the commerical, and, lo & behold, I found it. Turns out it was the first commerical for Monster.com. Watching it now, I still laugh at it, and can somewhat relate to it....

It's Baaaack!

So, I've decided to switch back to my regular blog format. I't not that I didn't like the "Transformers-style" blog, it was just that by the time I "tweaked" the blog to the way that I liked it, it would have been thirty days. What I will probably do is set a new blog, and then just work on it here and there.
So, the regular blog that you fans have come to know and possibly enjoy, is back!
